Hello & Welcome!

I love anything old and have a passion for beautiful antiques. My dream was to one day open a Bed and Breakfast (B&B) because whenever my husband and I would travel out of town, we would stay in one and they fascinated me. It was much more fun than motels or hotels. We could see different style homes and meet people from other places and chat over breakfast.
When I found this home, with such history, having been built in 1790, in the same town I grew up in, I knew this was my chance to bring it back to its original splendor.
After almost 3 years of working on it, one room at a time, and with a lot of help (they say it takes a village and it did), I believe I have accomplished my goal and now it is time to share it with others. I was not able to open it as a B&B, after all, but even better, folks now get the pleasure of renting the entire house through our website, through Airbnb or even VRBO.
We are so excited!

If I have succeeded in my goal, you will enjoy the small frog pond and the sound of the waterfall in the backyard. You can relax on any one of the 5 balconies or decks all loaded with comfortable wicker furniture. You will enjoy the two water views of both the river and Penobscot Bay. You can swing on one of the tire swings, relax in the hammock, walk through the grounds and enjoy the gardens, serene landscape and the 17 tall oak trees in the back yard near the gazebo. You can get lost in the flames at the fire pit, play some horseshoes or even croquet.
Inside you'll find the original pumpkin pine floors on all three floors, a beautiful parlor stove and wood cookstove. You will hear the hourly chime of the grandfather clock, eat on the 3-season porch, in the grand dining room, cook on the propane stove in the kitchen with 6 burners, use the new dishwasher, relax in the claw foot tub, cool down with the central air, enjoy the 5 fireplaces and enjoy your morning cup of coffee on the sun porch.
If that doesn’t do it, you will enjoy the 2nd floor lounge with a big screen tv. The antiques throughout the home will take you back in time to the early 1880's. The six bedrooms all have new blinds and 450-thread, soft cotton sheets on every bed. Don’t forget, you have access to the river right across the road and a canoe with paddles and life jackets. There is no doubt you will enjoy this wonderful home set in a quiet, friendly neighborhood.
I am honored to share it with you!
Your host, Lynn
What our visitors say
There was so much care taken in obtaining antique decoration stuff and accessories. It felt like we time travelled into the 1800’s. I can only image how much time the host spent in putting all the decorations together. Every room, even the restrooms, are aesthetically put together.
There is a huge hall with an 85 inch tv, where we had game night watching tv. In the morning we had a photo shoot in the beautiful backyard that comes with a pond. You can spend hours in each room going over the details. This house itself can be a trip and we are really glad we chose it and had a huge surprise on our trip. This is a huge house that can have 10+ persons and even great for people to experience the lifestyle of the 1800’s.
Kudos to the host for putting an experience with the stay! P.S The house is well equipped with washer/ dryer/ fridge
